Rexel Shredders Features and Maintenance
There are two ranges of current Rexel paper shredders. The first is the Momentum range of manual feed paper shredders and the second is the Optimum AutoFeed+ range of auto-feed shredders. The Optimum AutoFeed+ is also known as Stack and Shred.
Rexel has a large range of models giving you options for the right size and security level you require. Optimum AutoFeed+ shredders can be auto-fed or also have an option for manual feed. The auto-feed option is time-saving for anyone with large stacks of paper needing to be shredded with the minimum amount of time possible.
Rexel Shredder Features
Rexel's Momentum and Optimum AutoFeed+ ranges now include touch-sensitive buttons and no longer have push-type buttons. Most models include anti-jam technology.
For added security with auto-feeding documents, some Optimum AutoFeed+ models also include a PIN lockable lid to restrict access to un-shredded documents.
Both ranges include Cross Cut and Micro Cut models giving you choice over the level of security you desire.
Shredder Consumables Availability & Maintenance Required
Rexel shredders are easy to oil using oil sheets. These are an easy, mess-free way to oil your shredder. Any brand of oil sheets should work but be sure to check your paper shredder manual or with the company you bought from to ensure you don't void any warranty. ACCO Brands accepts no liability for product performance or safety when other types of lubricants are used on any part(s) of this machine. There is a range of shredder bags available to suit all Rexel Momentum and Optimum AutoFeed+ shredders.
It's recommended to oil your shredder after the bin has been emptied three times. If using oil sheets, you can simply feed the oil sheet into the manual feed slot (NOT through the auto-feed function) like you are shredding a piece of paper. Placing an oil sheet through the auto-feed function can contaminate the feed rollers and prevent the auto-feed mechanism from shredding.
The paper intake rollers can also become dirty over time which may impact the performance of the auto-feed function. You can use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the rollers. The auto-start sensor, may also occasionally become covered in paper dust. This could cause the shredder to run with no paper. Switch the shredder off and carefully clean the sensor using a cotton swab.
Rexel Shredder Spare Parts Availability
If required, we have the ability to source Rexel Momentum and Optimum AutoFeed+ parts. Parts will be readily available for newer models, however, as a shredder gets older it can become harder to source replacement parts. Contact us with the serial number of your shredder and we can try and find any replacement parts for you.
Maintenance by a Rexel Qualified Service Engineer
Depending on your model, Rexel recommends getting paper shredders serviced by a Rexel qualified engineer every 6 to 12 months. This will keep your shredder well maintained and keep its high performance and reliability.
